Face up to me! Gaga challenges Madonna

-

LADY GAGA has hit out at Madonna for feuding with her through the media instead of face to face.

The stars famously fell out in 2012 after Madonna called Gaga’s track Born This Way “reductive” in an interview on US TV – backing claims the hit was a rip-off of her 1989 song Express Yourself. Five years on and Gaga (left), real name Stefani Germanotta, is still angry about it.

“No matter how much respect I have for her as a performer, I could never wrap my head around the fact that she wouldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that I was reductive or whatever… No no no, I had to see it on TV,” she fumes.

“Telling me that you think I’m a piece of c**p through the media – it’s like a guy passing me a note through his friend, ‘My buddy thinks you’re hot, here’s his number…’ I’m Italian and from New York so, like, if I got a problem with somebody I’m gonna tell you to your face.”

Despite the hard feelings the 31-year-old hit-maker admits she still respects Madonna, 59, as an artist. “I admired her always and I still admire her no matter what she might think of me.”

As Day & Night recently reported, the star – whose behind the scenes documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two premiered on Netflix on Friday – has been speaking about her personal struggles recently, including her battle with the chronic pain condition fibromyalgia.
