Holly: I was judged

- EDITED BY JACK TEAGUE WITH DOMINIQUE HINES

HOLLY WILLOUGHBY reckons her good looks meant she had to work harder to be taken seriously. The co-host of This Morning, one of the UK’s best known and highest paid TV presenters, insists she spent much of her early career dealing with people’s often offensive preconceptions. “When I started out a lot of people looked at the blonde hair and this, that and the other and had a massive judgment,” the 36-year-old reveals on The Jonathan Ross Show, tomorrow on ITV at 10pm. “When I first started in telly I had a lot of negative comments about myself and [it bothered me until] I suddenly realised, you can only be you and once you accept that it just makes things a lot easier.

“I started on Ministry Of Mayhem, a children’s show, when I was 19. I have grown up since then.”

However, the mother-of-three’s appearance is still a major factor in her 17 years on TV.

The once-curvy star has recently left viewers concerned with her dramatic weight-loss, with some feeling their role model is now shrinking away.

After sharing a photo of herself in a dress by retailer Hobbs recently, some fans took to social media to ask her to stop losing weight.

“Very beautiful as always but are you looking thinner every time I see you,” wrote one.

Another put: “Very nice but preferred you more curvy Holly.”
