Jota’s backing hungry Wolves

- Tim Evershed

WOLVES will get better and better according to Diogo Jota after his side brushed Burton aside with a dominant performance.

The attacking midfielder, who is on loan at Molineux from Atletico Madrid, set Wolves on course for victory with his sixth goal for the club.

Romain Saiss and Ruben Vinagre added two more first-half goals and Brazilian striker Leo Bonatini capped a

convincing win with a fourth after the break.

It was just the response manager Nuno wanted to the defeat by Sheffield United in midweek and took his side back into the Championship’s top two.

Jota said: “We want to keep going and keep improving. We know sometimes we must compete with this kind of team and it is what we will do.

“I’m happy to have scored again but what is important is helping the team. I feel I’m playing very well here and I want to keep going.

“After losing a game it is good to have another one in just a few days. It was a good opportunity to win again quickly.

“Because of the international break we don’t need to slow down. There are no excuses, we should just keep going.”

It was a second 4-0 home reverse in the space of five days for Burton and leaves them hovering a point above the relegation places.

Brewers defender Jake Buxton said: “We are out of the bottom three which is the main objective that we reiterated at the start of the season. We have to stay in this division.”
