Blooming nice to see you... Kate shows off royal baby bump
DISPLAYING signs of a baby bump the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge made her first public appearance for almost six weeks last night.
Kate, who is thought to be approaching 12 weeks pregnant with her third child, joined her husband Prince William and brotherin-law Prince Harry as she wore a £795 dress to host a Buckingham Palace reception for mental health workers. The 35-year-old Duchess, who looked well, has been suffering from the severe morning sickness hyperemesis gravidarum but had recovered sufficiently to undertake her first official duty since August 30.
But it is understood her appearance does not mean she will be resuming full royal duties yet. An aide said: “The Duchess’s condition is improving but she is still suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum.
“She is delighted to be able to be here tonight.”
Kate was wearing Temperley’s iris-hued A-line shaped, lace collar Eclipse dress finished with scalloped edges, frilled sleeves and neckline, and a contrast velvet neck tie. The future Queen, who was too sick to accompany Prince George on his first day at school in early September, mingled with 350 guests last night at the reception to mark World Mental Health Day.
William said: “Catherine, Harry and I are proud to stand up in support of this community. All three of us have seen that mental health is at the heart of so many of the issues we are passionate about.”
