-

fan groups and representatives from the Football Supporters’ Federation met Scudamore, below, yesterday.

“At today’s PL/FSF Fans Group meeting Richard Scudamore commits to no 4pm kick-offs or later on Christmas Eve,” read a post on FSF’s Twitter account.

The Premier League later confirmed Scudamore’s promise.

“The Premier League today met supporters’ groups as part of its commitment to regular dialogue with fans,” read a statement.

“Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore clarified that the December selections for live UK broadcast will be confirmed on October 19. “Richard also made clear there will not be a match at 4pm (or later) on Christmas Eve but was unable to comment regarding earlier kick-off times on that date as discussions between the Premier League and the clubs are ongoing.” ARSENAL legend Paul Merson is coming out of retirement at the age of 49 to play for Welsh part-timers Caerau. The former England midfielder, left, ended his professional career in 2006 after a spell as Walsall player-manager. He has friends on the Caerau board and is hoping to bolster gate receipts.

CHELSEA have told Charly Musonda to do his talking with his feet after he took to Twitter to express his annoyance at a lack of first-team opportunities.
