Sting is on move after £38m sale
MUSICIAN Sting and his wife Trudie Styler have sold their stunning two-storey Manhattan penthouse for £37.9million.
They bought the 16th and 17th floor apartment overlooking New York’s Central Park for £20.1million in 2008 when the building, designed in the New Classical style by US architect Robert Stern, opened.
The sale price agreed for the flat was less than the £42.5million the couple had hoped for when it was put on the market in May but still marks a huge profit.
Sting, 66, and Styler, 63, have reportedly already bought a massive new spread – also designed by Mr Stern – just down the road at Central Park South.
The apartment they have sold, originally two flats which they combined, has three bedrooms. The master bedroom suite has two bathrooms – one with views over Central Park from the bath.
The new owners will be able to enjoy an entry hall with a spectacular spiral staircase and a private 400 sq ft terrace. For relaxation there is a sauna and steam room. And the all-white kitchen has two fridges, four ovens and three dishwashers. Sting...huge profit
