DOLLY NAMED COUNTRY’S TOP PICK

-

DOLLY PARTON won’t be begging anyone not to take her man now she’s country’s most powerful woman.

The 71-year-old Jolene hit-maker pipped the legendary Loretta Lynn, 85, to the post in an extensive online poll launched to find the most admired singer in her genre.

The respected Taste Of Country website conducted the survey with editors stating: “Separately, Dolly Parton’s artistry, versatility, business sense and courage would earn her a high ranking on this list of country music’s all-time great female singers. Combined, these unique assets make her a no-doubt pick for the most powerful woman in country music history.” Coal Miner’s Daughter singer Loretta, who recently returned to the stage after suffering a stroke earlier this year, is the runner-up, while Miranda Lambert lands at three. Reba McEntire and former American Idol winner Carrie Underwood round out the top five. Patsy Cline, Tammy Wynette, Shania Twain also feature in the top 10.
