Asking parents to check maths just doesn’t add up
RECENTLY, my grandson’s school in Dorset asked parents to mark their homework, grade the answer and check that they are “using the correct method” to reach the mathematical conclusion.
As they are not teachers or qualified in any way in mathematics, they are refusing to do this. Have any other parents been experiencing this in other parts of the country?
Why do we pay teachers to teach? Surely it is their job to mark and assess students, not parents. Michael Cook,
