Technology: The Gadget Show, 7pm, Channel 5

Doing the brew run at work used to be such a simple thing. You either had tea or coffee to make, perhaps the occasional hot chocolate too. Now, though, there are fruit teas, green teas and all manner of other weird and wonderful creations. Tonight, Jon Bentley looks at the tea-making revolution that has happened in the last decade. And Georgie Barrat (left) goes to Italy to meet a futuristic electric robot manufactur­ed by a moped company.

Travel: Australian Wilderness With Ray Mears, 8pm, ITV

A new Ray Mears series. Twenty million years ago the sea bed erupted to create the great limestone cliffs of Ningaloo, Western Australia. Amid the rocks, the intrepid presenter (above) encounters the fossils of huge prehistori­c sharks before swimming with their modern descendant­s whale sharks out on Ningaloo reef. This is the start of seven episodes from the superb Mears. NB: NOT IN SCOTLAND OR IRELAND

Soap: EastEnders, 8pm, BBC1

In another eventful end to the week on Albert Square, Mick confides in Jack (Scott Maslen, left, with Danny Dyer) about what has happened recently but is left furious when he finds out that Jack knew all about Linda’s cancer battle. Meanwhile, Linda herself seeks consolatio­n from Shirley. The pressure rises for Stacey as she prepares for the social worker’s visit, only for her and Martin to get something of a shock. Kush dishes out an ultimatum to Carmel – tell Stacey that she was the one who contacted the social services, or he will do it for her. That’s a heck of a choice! Finally, the Taylors’ financial woes grow worse, leading Keanu to call the escort agency.

Challenge: The Crystal Maze, 8pm, C4

Five fast food workers unite to attempt to conquer the Crystal Maze in the final episode of the series. The quintet (above) navigate their way through the Aztec, Medieval, Industrial and Future zones of the Maze, tackling a range of skill, mystery, physical and mental challenges. This group of Welsh hopefuls met while working in their restaurant, but it remains to be seen whether they will serve up a victory.

Comedy: Cold Feet, 9pm, ITV

The familiar face of Robert Glenister guests tonight alongside James Nesbitt (right) and the rest of the cast. With her profession­al and personal life finally back on track, Karen meets builder Gareth and, after much deliberati­on, agrees to go on a date with him. Adam and Pete find themselves cornered into holding a joint 50th birthday dinner. However, celebratio­ns quickly unravel as a surprise visitor turns up with an unexpected revelation.
