Francis to halt red-hot Kane

- Alex Crook

BOURNEMOUTH defender Simon Francis is determined to end Harry Kane’s red-hot scoring streak at Wembley tomorrow.

Kane has netted an incredible 15 goals in his last 10 games for Tottenham and England and hit six goals in his last three meetings against Bournemouth.

“Harry is not shy about getting goals against us but that is our job – to keep him out,” said Francis. “If you don’t enjoy those challenges, you’re in the wrong profession.

“The lads love these kind of games against big teams away from home, and we have caused upsets before.

“Harry is the best striker I’ve come across in the Premier League and on his day is world class.

“He is quickly getting to where you can talk about him in the same breath as Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez and Neymar.

“With his goalscoring record alone, you have to put him in that bracket.

“If you go there and keep him quiet, you have a chance of getting something because he’s at the forefront of everything Tottenham do.

“It’s great to be playing against those type of players and you can test yourself to see just how good you are.

“Tottenham are absolutely on fire and for me it’s them, Man United and Man City who are the top three teams in the country.

“But teams have gone there and got results.

“Swansea went there and defended excellently and we might have to do a similar job up there.”
