Weinstein left me in tears, says British star

- From Daniel Bates in New York

BRITISH actress Lena Headey has become the latest Hollywood star to share accounts of alleged sexual harassment by shamed film producer Harvey Weinstein.

The Game Of Thrones star claimed Weinstein had twice strayed beyond professional boundaries with her and when rebuffed had become angry and threatening.

Ms Headey, who plays Cersei Lannister in the hit HBO series, yesterday posted a series of tweets claiming she first met Weinstein at a film festival where he “made some suggestive comment” to her which she laughed off “as a joke”.

They met again several years later in a Los Angeles hotel where she believed “he wanted to talk about potential work”.

The pair discussed films before Weinstein asked “a few questions about the state of my love life”.

She “shifted the conversation back to something less personal”, later making it clear to him that she was “not interested in anything other than work” while they were in a lift together.

“He was silent after I spoke, furious,” she continued. “We got out of the lift and walked to his room.

“His hand was on my back, he was marching me forward, not a word, I felt completely powerless.

“He tried his key card and it didn’t work, then he got really angry.

“He walked me back to the lift, through the hotel to the valet.

“He paid for my car and whispered in my ear, ‘Don’t tell anyone about this, not your manager, not your agent’. I got into my car and I cried.”

Yesterday, as the Producers Guild of America voted unanimously to kick Weinstein out on disciplinary grounds, an A-list actor was named as an abuser on social media.

An American journalist who said she had been a fan until he attacked “a loved one” of hers, said it was “time the dominoes fell”.

No alleged victims of the unnamed star have come forward, but a source said “rumours about this actor have circulated for years”.
