Roy has eye on Wayne chance

- Tony Banks

SKIPPER Wes Morgan says Leicester need to use the Carabao Cup as a springboard to get back on track.

The Foxes go into tonight’s home clash against Leeds still reeling from the sacking of manager Craig Shakespeare.

Morgan, right, said: “It’s an ideal opportunity because we’re at home, so hopefully we can get that win.” WALES goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey is set to return to Crystal Palace’s side for their tricky Carabao Cup trip tonight to Championship promotion contenders Bristol City.

Hennessey is poised to return after losing his place to Julian Speroni.

Palace have yet to pick up a point or even score a goal in the league on their travels this season but manager Roy Hodgson has vowed to give some of his fringe players a chance at Ashton Gate.

“I am hoping to make changes,” said Hodgson. “We’ve got a Welsh international goalkeeper on the bench. We have two centre-backs who played virtually all of last year in James Tomkins and Martin Kelly, and at the moment, they’re not getting a game and it would be interesting for me to see them.

“We are going to go there and try to win the game – it’s not a question of we don’t care about Tuesday because we have got a match on the Saturday. We are capable of doing both.” CHARLIE DANIELS wants to complete Bournemouth’s fairytale rise from the bottom of League Two by helping Eddie Howe’s men to a cup final. The Cherries can book a place in the last eight of the Carabao Cup by beating Middlesbrough at home tonight. Defender Daniels, left, said: “From League Two to a League Cup final is a great journey.” ●DAVID MOSS has left his role as Huddersfield’s head of football operations less than five months after succeeding Stuart Webber, who moved to Norwich.
