TOFFEES JOIN DYCHE FIGHT

END OF ROAD FOR KOEMAN AT GOODISON Burnley boss in demand as Everton join Leicester among his suitors Hammers lining up ‘Mini Mourinho’

EVERTON have moved to hijack Leicester’s attempt to make Burnley’s Sean Dyche their new manager.

The Toffees sacked Ronald Koeman yesterday after Sunday’s 5-2 thumping by Arsenal at Goodison Park left them in the Premier League’s bottom three with just eight points from nine games.

Dyche is wanted by Leicester after the Foxes axed Craig Shakespeare this month but Everton are hoping they can tempt the Burnley manager to Merseyside instead.

Indeed, Dyche said last week that he was “open-minded” about his future.

Everton’s Under-23s manager David Unsworth, alongside assistant John Ebbrell, will take temporary charge for their Carabao Cup WEST HAM are ready to make a move for brilliant young German coach Julian Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for Slaven Bilic. Nagelsmann, nicknamed the ‘Mini Mourinho’, has taken Hoffenheim to fourth place in the Bundesliga and is rated as one of the hottest young coaches in Europe. The 30-year-old former 1860 Munich and Augsburg player, forced to retire at the age of 19 through persistent knee injuries, took over at Hoffenheim two years ago, saved them from relegation then led them to fourth place last season.

Nagelsmann, left, was tipped to replace Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich last month when the former Chelsea manager was axed, only for their former head coach Jupp Heynckes to be appointed until the end of the season.

The search for Bilic’s successor intensified following Friday night’s demoralising 3-0 home defeat by promoted Brighton but he will be in charge for the Carabao Cup clash with Tottenham tomorrow and Saturday’s visit to Crystal Palace.
