SUZUKI E-SURVIVOR On sale: 2019 (Jimny) Price: est £14,000 (Jimny)

LOOKING like something that has just driven off the set of a Mad Max film, don’t expect to see this Suzuki e-Survivor in a showroom any time soon. However, with the next Jimny baby 4x4 due in 2019, this concept not only gives us a few design clues about how that might look when it arrives but also offers us some steers on the future direction of the technology with the company.

With permanent electric four-wheel drive thanks to motors inside all four wheels, the e-Survivor could point to an EV version of the next Jimny. We also love the eye-catching round LED headlights and five-bar grille while the lift-out roof-section on this two-seater e-Survivor could point to a potential removable sunroof on the production Jimny.

HONDA URBAN EV CONCEPT On sale: 2019 Price: tba HONDA first unveiled this beauty at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month and this is its first appearance in Japan since the carmaker confirmed it will go into production in 2019.

Based on an all-new electric platform, it boasts cute, retro looks that from some angles aren’t too dissimilar to the Peugeot 205.

A three-door hatchback, there will be changes to come such as the thin windscreen pillars and the oversized wheels but with an estimated range of 150 miles on a full charge we’re just happy it’s coming to showrooms at all.

TOYOTA GR HV SPORTS CONCEPT On sale: tba Price: tba

WE’D love to be able to tell you that this crazy-looking new coupé is the next-generation Celica or GT86 but this car’s biggest news lies beneath the skin. Take the name.

Toyota has already produced the GRMN version of the Yaris but this new GR moniker hints at less extreme but still warmly sporting derivatives of future models.

In turn, that also hints at different performance levels for its hybrids as well. So don’t be surprised to see Toyota’s electric-powered cars coming in eco, standard and performance versions. Furthermore, it can also alternate between manual and automatic at the flick of a switch.
