Gino’s Italian Coastal Escape, 8pm, ITV

Poor old Gino D’Acampo, he gets all the bad jobs in the world of television. For this eight-episode series, the chef (left) returns to his homeland of Italy to explore the Mediterranean coastline, kicking off his journey on the famous Amalfi coast. Here, the chef visits the picturesque villages of Positano, Cetara and Minori and learns how unique Italian food traditions are being kept alive by the locals. If you’re not hungry at the start, you certainly will be by the finish.

Soap: Coronation Street, 7.30pm & 8.30pm, ITV

David and Gary (Jack P Shepherd and Mikey North, above) are centre of attention in both of tonight’s visits to Weatherfield. Firstly, Gary returns home to worrying news of Nicola while David invites Shona to move in. In the second episode, David gets wind of Gary’s big secret and it remains to be seen if he keeps quiet about it. Meanwhile, Beth puts Craig in an awkward situation and Anna maintains her innocence to Seb.

Drama: Doc Martin, 9pm, ITV

This is the penultimate episode of Doc Martin – after nine series and more than 14 years on our screens, the end is near. Tonight, it is the annual Portwenn versus Port Carran gig race and school gig festival, and this time Penhale is the umpire and Morwenna is the Portwenn team captain. However, the skipper is forced to find a replacement rower when Eric dislocates his finger. Meanwhile, Mel Hendy goes to see Martin at the surgery, worried about a rash that could be infectious but she ends up opening up to him about her concerns over her husband’s drinking. Elsewhere, Martin and Louisa arrive home to find Chris Parsons waiting for them. Caroline Catz and Martin Clunes (both left) star.

Food and drink: Eat Well For Less? 8pm, BBC1

Gregg Wallace (above left) and Chris Bavin (right) help a single mother from Buckinghamshire make a number of changes in an attempt to lower her bills which are sky-high thanks to her shopping habits. Gabrielle proves one of the pair’s biggest challenges to date, as she often goes food shopping three times a day, seven days a week, with a weekly spend that is four-and-a-half times the national average.

Comedy: Man Down, 10pm, C4

In the second episode of the second series, Dan explains to Emma his perfect vision of a family and embarks on a journey to rediscover a dreadful truth about a misremembered friendship. Meanwhile, Jo embraces freeganism and later, Dan reluctantly decides to re-enter the teaching profession but that is unlikely to end well for all parties. We are big fans of this comedy from the mind of the show’s leading man Greg Davies (right).
