Don’t like your body? Golly, Mollie really…

- By Dominique Hines and Gillian Crawley

SHE certainly looks good on the dance floor but Strictly Come Dancing’s Mollie King has revealed she is actually not completely at ease with her body.

The Saturdays singer was already toned and trim before entering the BBC contest with a fitness regime that began when she was a teenage member of the British ski team.

And now rehearsals with professional dance partner AJ Pritchard, 22, have honed her figure even more.

But Mollie, 30, confessed she has her fair share of body hang-ups and desires, with a curvier bottom like rapper Nicki Minaj at the top of the list.

“I’d like more of a booty, but I’m always going to have a tomboy shape. I’m never going to be Nicki Minaj,” she told Women’s Health magazine.

“Pretty much every part of my body I’d like to improve.

“I would love to do more sport to get fit. I need to work on my obliques to try and nip in my tummy.

“But I do think you get to a point where you have to accept yourself and say ‘This is my figure, and I could work on it, but I’m never going to drastically change it’.”

Before the intensive Strictly rehearsals took over her life, Mollie had regular gym sessions with a personal trainer.

She confesses to a healthy appetite, often tweeting about her love of pizza, but makes sure she works it off again.

“The girls laugh at me because they think I eat a lot yet still stay quite slim,” she has said of her bandmates Una Healy, Rochelle Wiseman, Frankie Sandford and Vanessa White. “But I work out at least twice a week.”

Mollie, who last week was saved in the dance-off against TV chef Simon Rimmer and partner Karen Clifton, hopes her spin on the dance floor will now encourage other women to “go for it”.

Despite rumours of a romance with AJ, Mollie says she has been single since splitting with Dolce & Gabbana model David Gandy last year.

But she told the magazine’s December issue that she is not worried about being alone at 30 because of the characters in hit TV series Sex and the City.

“They’re all over 30 and having the time of their lives,” she said. “If Carrie Bradshaw can have that lifestyle, I’ve nothing to worry about.”

But she added: “I definitely want children, 100 per cent.”

Mollie admitted she would be thrilled to find her Mr Right when the time comes, but is not panicking.

“I don’t feel like I need somebody, but I obviously would love somebody,” she said.

“I literally love being in love. I’m so romantic. I’m such a girly girl.”

The full interview is in the December issue of Women’s Health, on sale on Tuesday.
