Scandal of foreign aid cash spent on migrants

-

THE scandal surrounding foreign aid just gets worse and worse. Now we learn that not only is our money being shipped out in its billions to fund developed countries that do not need it but it is also being used to fund migrants here in the UK, many of whom came in illegally. We are paying almost £1million every day to people who should not be here, who have not contributed a penny in taxation themselves. And while there may be some asylum seekers here who genuinely need help, why do they not have a fund of their own?

What possible justification can there be for this farcical state of affairs? Rephrase that: farce implies something that’s funny and there is nothing remotely amusing about watching more than £13billion that could be put to considerably better use domestically being thrown away.

Our Daily Express Stop The Foreign Aid Madness crusade has attracted the support of more than 30,000 readers, an astonishing number, as well as MPs across the political spectrum and the Taxpayers’ Alliance.

With the Budget coming up this is the perfect opportunity for the Government to drop the commitment to spend this arbitrary 0.7 per cent of our national income on foreign aid and instead allow Chancellor Philip Hammond greater leeway for some voter friendly measures, such as increasing spending on the NHS or their much heralded promise to raise the level of inheritance tax. This current situation is untenable.
