We can burst Brighton bubble

- James Candy

SWANSEA boss Paul Clement has warned Brighton their topflight honeymoon will not last forever. Chris Hughton’s men, newly promoted to the Premier League, are sitting pretty in 12th position having picked up 11 points from their last seven matches. Only goal difference separates the Swans from the relegation zone, but Clement believes things could turn around quickly for both sides. He said: “In the past it has always been difficult for the club who have come up.

“In this situation they have started well but it’s only been 10 games and things can change really quickly.

“And that’s how I think about my own team. We’ve won two in 10 but at the end of last season we won four of the last five.

“Sometimes you start thinking, ‘Where’s the next point coming from?’ because you just can’t see it.

“But then you start gathering some momentum and all of a sudden you’ve won three out of five.”

Hughton has urged his side to keep fighting for every result in order to take the feel-good factor into next week’s international break. “There’s a nice feeling around the camp after going three games unbeaten,” he said.

“When you’re on the back of a win it’s always a better week, and the more good weeks you have, it means you’re doing OK.

“We have to keep fighting for every result. At the moment, there’s a good feel in the team and club, but the only way that remains is by getting good results.”
