Shamed Spacey sat on throne in Palace visit
DISGRACED Hollywood star Kevin Spacey sat on the Queen’s throne during a Buckingham Palace visit organised by Prince Andrew.
The actor breached protocol as Andrew took him on a private tour of his mother’s London home.
Spacey, who faces allegations of sex assault and misconduct, even posed for photographs on the ceremonial chair.
A source said: “Going anywhere near the throne is a total no-no.”
Another added: “Buckingham Palace is not a theme park to be used for private tours, it’s the heart of the monarchy.
“The Duke’s decision to invite Spacey for a personal guided visit was not ideal then. Against the backdrop of the current allegations against Spacey, it looks even worse.”
The visit is understood to have taken place when the 58-year-old House Of Cards star was artistic director of London’s Old Vic theatre between 2004 and 2015.
His tour included the room with a chair made for the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, embroidered with her initials.
Buckingham Palace said: “The Palace is home to a number of members of the Royal Family who, from time to time, host guests in a private capacity.”
