Same old story from a bunch of yesterday’s men

-

WHY can’t the political “has-beens” Gordon Brown and Tony Blair keep their noses out of politics now (“Brexiteers could turn against leaving EU claims Gordon Brown”, November 9)?

Considering the disastrous legacy from their time in office, I find their remarks and advice for a re-run of the EU referendum to be highly offensive and mischievous.

I waited 40 years for the referendum and was fully aware when casting my vote of the risks and possible hardship that might ensue by voting to free the country from the ever-tightening vice of the EU.

If regaining control of our nation involves some sacrifice, then so be it. It is a price worth paying.

The EU is entirely responsible for our departure, for had David Cameron been successful in his effort to persuade Europe to make reforms and be more democratic, the referendum may have had a different result. So let us thank God for their intransigence.
