Hatters fall to long ball
LUTON manager Nathan Jones was left frustrated by Cheltenham’s last-ditch long-ball tactics after his side were denied top spot by a dramatic injury-time leveller.
Elliot Lee had put the Hatters 2-1 up four minutes from time but Will Boyle bundled home after Robins goalkeeper Scott Flinders flicked on a corner.
Jones said: “We did so much so well, because all they do is throw it in your box. They’re gung-ho when chasing a game. They had nine in our box plus the keeper, all over 6ft.”
Notts County boss Kevin Nolan saw his team stay top despite drawing 1-1 at Stevenage. He said: “We just couldn’t get that second goal, but we’re delighted we’re still top.”
Accrington remain second after a goalless draw at Cambridge. Stanley boss John Coleman said: “We just want to score goals.”
Exeter are third after a 2-0 win over Grimsby and manager Paul Tisdale said: “It was a game for basics. We made very few mistakes in very bad conditions.”
