Tom gets tough
TOM BURGESS believes England’s fate at the World Cup could come down to mental toughness.
England have fallen away in the second half of their games against France and Lebanon. They won both but failed to find the killer finish.
Prop Burgess is convinced the players can control their own fate going into the final stages.
“We need an 80-minute performance,” he said. “We’ll be looking at how we can stay focused.” England meet Papua New Guinea in the quarter-finals in Melbourne on Sunday, with Tonga likely to be the semi-final opponents. Burgess’s brother Sam will return for the quarterfinal if he has fully recovered from his knee injury.
