The bright side of the tracks

- By George Nichols

FOR so many of us, music is a major part of our lives – and at the heart of our home. Yet with an increasing array of hightech devices and so many ways to obtain – and listen to – our favourite tracks it can all get a bit confusing. How do we marry our treasured recordings – all those LPs and cassettes – along with newer devices such as phones and tablets?

The answer is a single cuttingedge home music centre that covers every base.

The Neostar Electronics system brings together the past and the present in a sleek seven-in-one package that enables you to play all your classic recordings as well as transfer them to contemporary outlets.

The three-speed turntable enables you to play albums, singles and even historic 78s.

Yet the system does so much more than that – you can transfer all your vinyl (cassettes and CDs too) to MP3 files ready to transfer to your iPod, phone or other device via a USB stick.

The CD player takes three discs at a time, letting you play hours of music without getting up. That’s not all – there are two cassette players, making it possible to record on to cassette and record from cassette to cassette, as well as an FM/AM radio with RDS tuner and 20-station memory. You can play digital MP3 files using a USB stick, SD memory card or Bluetooth connection via your phone, tablet and iPad.

It’s difficult to believe how much is packed into one compact system (it’s only 41.5cm deep by 31cm wide), but it produces a big sound thanks to a pair of free-standing, five-watt three-way stereo speakers.

There’s also a preset graphic equaliser for perfect sound, a headphone socket, remote control and an alarm linked to the digital clock. The Neostar Electronics system does everything in style with its smart, silver design and easy-to-use buttons.

If you’ve ever been tempted to get rid of those classic vinyl albums, think again as you can bring them to life again, both on the turntable and by transferring the music into other formats.

And it doesn’t cost a fortune with the Neostar selling for only £169.95, an £80 saving on the full price. Now’s the time to get the music centre of the future and bring your collection into the 21st century.

If you have ever been tempted to ditch your classic vinyl albums... then think again
