Kiss chants hint at a Strictly romance for Mollie and AJ
RUMOURS of romance between Strictly’s Mollie King and AJ Pritchard heated up last night, when their rivals chanted “kiss, kiss, kiss”.
Mollie, 30, was thrilled to get a nine from judge Bruno Tonioli, resulting in a total of 31 points – the duo’s highest ever score.
And fellow celebrities and pro dancers chanted for the couple to kiss to mark the occasion.
While Mollie and AJ, 23, awkwardly avoided a smooch, host Claudia Winkleman laughed: “They are all shouting ‘kiss’. We’d all like it... but ok we will wait till the wrap party.”
When an embarrassed AJ said: “Oh, I’ve gone hot now,” Claudia could not resist adding: “AJ come on!”
The dance partners later left Susan Calman lost the dance-off the show in a shared taxi.
Fans were quick to comment. Chloe Morley wrote on Twitter: “Deffo think Mollie & AJ are dating now after that reaction from the pro dancers.”
Another user tweeted: “Did Mollie and AJ just get outed on live TV?”
But not everyone was happy, with Kaytee Jenkins posting: “Everyone shouting for Molly and AJ to kiss are actually shameful.”
Keely Fenton wrote: “That was cringey. Kiss, kiss, kiss... ballroom or playground?”
Speculation about chemistry between Saturdays singer Mollie and her dance partner has been rife since the start of the series but the pair have denied it.
Mollie recently said AJ was “lovely looking” but added “we have to just sort of laugh it off” when asked about the rumours.
Susan Calman last night became the ninth casualty of the dance-off after being defeated by Alexandra Burke.
The Scottish comedian had often been tipped for elimination from the contest but her popularity with viewers always saved her. But her dire dancing to Bobby Darin’s Beyond The Sea with professional partner Kevin Clifton, proved to be a step too far.
Accepting defeat, Susan said: “I have loved every minute of it.”
She thanked “everyone involved in the show, the audience, everyone who voted for us”, adding: “We got far further than we thought we would.”
