Terriers vow to get snappy with Chelsea

- Timothy Abraham

HUDDERSFIELD kickstarted their season with a battling win over Brighton and winger Tom Ince believes Chelsea will hate playing them now.

David Wagner’s side ended a run of four defeats with a dogged victory over the Seagulls. Benin striker Steve Mounie scored twice as Brighton struggled to match the relentless work ethic of Wagner’s men.

They have already beaten Manchester United at home and gave Manchester City a hard game. And

Ince, right, believes nobody will fancy coming to Huddersfield now – including the champions tomorrow night.

“The way we get in people’s faces, we stop people playing, we win our tackles, we win our battles, we make it difficult for teams,” Ince said. “Chelsea have got talent in abundance. We know there are going to be spells where we won’t be on top. But we feel we can cause any team problems here. ”

Huddersfield took the lead when Mounie bundled home from close range and he nodded in a second for his first goals for the Terriers since a brace against Crystal Palace on the opening day.

Ince had plenty of chances to put the game to bed but with 38 shots and no goals, he has had more attempts without scoring than anyone else in the Premier League. “I’m putting myself in good positions and you want to add goals to your game,” he said. “I’m hoping once the first goes in, whether it’s off my ear or my bum, there will be a flurry.” Brighton manager Chris Hughton says their downturn is a “concern”. “Looking at the levels we had, we started very well,” he said. “But a team that comes up [from the Championship] is never going to keep those levels throughout the season.”
