PRINCES William and Harry shared the red carpet with showbiz royalty last night – before watching themselves in the new Star Wars film.

The brothers joined the cast and crew of Star Wars: The Last Jedi at its European premiere inside London’s famed Royal Albert Hall.

Last month actor John Boyega let slip that William and Harry filmed cameo roles as stormtroopers during a visit to Pinewood Studios.

Boyega, a 25-year-old Londoner who plays Finn, walked the red carpet alongside fellow stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren).

London-born actress Daisy Ridley, 25, who plays Rey, looked sensational in a one-shoulder black vinyl dress.

VIP guests at the premiere included singer Ed Sheeran, hip hop artist Stormzy and TV host Jonathan Ross.

The screening was hosted in aid of William, Kate and Harry’s charity, the Royal Foundation.

More than 400 young people, military veterans and volunteers from its programmes also attended.

They included representatives from the foundation’s youth sports initiative Coach Core, the Full Effect programme for disadvantaged young people in Nottingham, and military projects such as the Endeavour Fund.

The Last Jedi is the eighth film in the main Star Wars saga and the last to feature Carrie Fisher, who died a year ago, as Princess Leia.

Paying tribute to Carrie, Mark Hamill said: “She was so much fun.”

The film, the longest in the series and hailed by critics as the best, will be released in UK cinemas tomorrow.
