Third person charged over killer house blaze

A THIRD person charged over the deaths of four children in an arson attack on their home yesterday appeared in court and smiled throughout the hearing.

David Worrall, 25, is charged with four murders, three attempted murders and one count of arson with intent to endanger life over the fire in Salford, Greater Manchester, on Monday.

Throughout the hearing Worrall was seen smiling. He spoke only to confirm his name

and address, which he was “no fixed abode”.

He was remanded in custody and will appear before a judge today at Manchester Crown Court.

Worrall will appear alongside Zak Bolland, 23, and Courtney Brierley, 20, who appeared in court earlier this week facing the same charges.

said died in the blaze. Their three year-old sister Lia also died on Wednesday.

Her family revealed in a Facebook post that her life support had been switched off.

The children’s mother, Michelle Pearson, 35, is in a coma and unaware her children have died.

Fire investigat­ors believe the property was targeted through three entry points – the chimney, front door and a ground-floor window.
