Teacher jailed for car sex with schoolgirl, 16
A SEX education teacher has been jailed for five years for having a relationship with a 16-year-old schoolgirl.
Scott Lynch, 33, filmed the girl performing a sex act on him under a desk in a classroom. He also had sex with her in his car and in a motel.
The former banker who retrained as a teacher took indecent photographs of the teenager and persuaded another to send him explicit photos of herself.
Lynch of Bangor-on-Dee, North Wales, was the head of personal and social education at his high school which included responsibility for sex education and the responsible use of social media. He was also the point of contact for the school with local police.
Lynch admitted 19 sex offences at Mold Crown Court this week.
Handing down the sentence Judge Rhys Rowlands told him: “This was depravity plain and simple. You targeted a vulnerable young girl for your own sexual gratification.”
Earlier the court heard prosecutor Anna Pope say: “This defendant has a clear sexual interest in children.
“Over a two-year period he acted out that interest.
“He exchanged sexual chats with adults and children on the internet. He fantasised about child rape and encouraged a girl to send indecent photographs of herself to him.
“He downloaded and traded images on the internet.”
She said that Lynch had groomed the vulnerable teenage girl into having a sexual relationship with him and had persuaded her to carry out a number of “perverted fantasies”.
Police visited his home and about 200 images were found, some of which had been distributed.
