Headbutt just a joke says Jonny Pochettino says Spurs are ready to pump up the volume

JONNY BAIRSTOW insisted his ‘headbutt’ celebratio­n after reaching his century in the third Test here was intended only as light-hearted fun.

But the England batsman was serious when he said fierce sledging aimed his way in the first Test at the Gabba had not broken him but spurred him on.

“Chat is chat,” he said. “But this celebratio­n was a bit of light-hearted fun with everything that has gone on and that’s exactly how it should be taken.”

Bairstow was singled out for a hard time in Brisbane with several Australia players using the headbuttin­g incident with Cameron Bancroft in Perth from the first night of the tour to try to MAURICIO POCHETTINO has warned Manchester City that if his Tottenham team can bring their 15-game winning run to a halt at the Etihad today they will be pumping up the volume in the dressing room.
