Savvy coupon queen spends £20 to get £2,000 in festive goodies

- By Jessica Haworth

THRIFTY Aimee Moore is giving her family a cracking £2,000 Christmas for just £20 – thanks to coupons and cashback deals.

Savvy Aimee, 43, has spent all year building up a haul of festive goodies for her three young sons by using special offers and online apps.

She has amassed presents, drinks, decorations and an entire Christmas dinner with a combined value of £1,960.57.

But virtually all of it cost nothing and she actually parted with just £20.

Aimee – dubbed the Coupon Queen for her amazing moneysaving ability – said: “Christmas used to be a very stressful time for me. In the run-up, I’d worry about affording everything. And by Boxing Day I’d be fretting about my credit card bills.

“But now with couponing and cashbacks, everything from the must-have toy to the turkey costs me next to nothing.

“And when I see my kids’ faces light up I feel proud.”

Aimee, of Scarborough, North Yorks, started collecting coupons in 2013 in a bid to save cash.

She has since become an online celebrity thanks to ingenious tips passed on through her Facebook page, Extreme Couponing and Cash Back UK, which now has over 55,000 followers. She was even able to quit her job as a warehouse supervisor to become a full-time mother to Isaac, nine, Dexter, seven, and two-year-old Bertie.

Aimee uses a variety of apps, some of which offer cash back on shopping and others which give Amazon or Tesco vouchers.

She said: “A few years ago we were skint and struggling but I’ve since saved us thousands.

“I start planning for the festive period in January but I look for offers all year. I’ll store those items under the stairs or in the attic ready for December.

“Saving money is so easy and it is very rewarding.”
