...and another US girl says Yes!
ONE royal fan had an unexpected Christmas surprise when her boyfriend proposed to her live on national TV outside the church.
Americans Mike Metz and Ashley Millican, aged 20, were interviewed and asked why they had come to see the royals yesterday.
Mr Metz got down on one knee and said: “I want to spend the rest of my Christmases with you Ashley, so I don’t know if you want to marry me?”
Fighting back tears, she replied: “Yes. Oh my God!”
She wept as she took the ring from a little white box and said: “Yes, yes, yes! Good, it’s my grandmother’s ring, it’s very pretty.”
Later, the couple held a sign giving their news and Meghan and Harry congratulated them. Mr Metz said: “They asked us what we were doing for the rest of the day and we told them, going back to eat turkey and to watch the Queen on television.”
He said they planned to tie the knot in 18 months.
Rhiannon Mills, of Sky News, had been tipped off but Miss Millican told her: “I had no idea.
“I was very surprised. I never thought he would ask me right before we were about to see the Royal Family for the first time.”
Mr Metz, of Wisconsin, said he had asked Texan Miss Millican’s parents in September.
He said: “It was pretty tough to keep secret as I was so excited. It’s memories to cherish for ever.”
