A trip to The Bahamas with Sophia and Jay. Sophia [known as Fifi] was 18 months old and loved swimming with me in the sea.

We spent a lot of time at the Aquaventure water park too – my daughter is a water baby and this went a long way to solidifying her mermaid status.

The Bahamas is stunning. It has the most beautiful turquoise, clear water and the white sandy beaches totally blew me away.

We had our hair in braids for a week after getting them done on the beach, I didn’t wear any make-up and there was no fuss – it was so chilled. I like to collect mementos from each holiday. For me they’re amazing memories and I keep them in a little box for Fifi.

My last ones include some sand from the Maldives and a tacky mini Eiffel Tower from Paris. It’s lovely to see all the places we’ve been. I’m always in the water. Fifi loves to swim and her ability is so good for her age. I’m so proud of her when she takes to the water – fearless doesn’t cover it. I’m a big fan of India. I last went when I was a teenager and we had such an incredible time. It’s such a rich, vibrant land and you never know quite what’s going to happen when you leave the hotel. That element of surprise is always thrilling.

We stayed at the Taj Lake Palace in Udaipur and also visited Jaipur and Mumbai. One minute you’re near the slums and the next you’re in a beautiful resort but the impressive thing with India is the positivity and the smiles on people’s faces no matter what their situation.

Going there for a short trip really wasn’t enough – you could spend months there and still discover something new. Seeing the Taj Mahal in Agra was an amazing experience.
