“The hearing aids are just brilliant”

-

WHEN sporty John Mosse first developed hearing problems in his thirties, he struggled to find hearing aids that were right for him.

But now, thanks to new, up-to-the-minute devices from Amplifon, he’s able to lead the life he wants whether it’s work or enjoying his passions for cycling and music.

John, a personal trainer and sports therapist, had found his NHS hearing aids uncomfortable and suffered from poor aftercare from other providers.

He explains: “The care and attention always seemed to be lacking.”

That all changed when he turned to Amplifon for a free, in-depth hearing test using pioneering technology.

Not only was the audiologist able to pinpoint the type of hearing loss John had, but identify hearing aids that would best suit his hearing difficulties and lifestyle.

He recalls: “My audiologist Simon was brilliant. He sat down with me and explained exactly what he was testing for.

“I was really impressed by the range of hearing aids available and how advanced the technology is.”

John, now in his 60s, picked out a top-ofthe-range model with Bluetooth connectivity.

It allows him to connect his hearing aids to his phone so the incoming call goes straight into his ears.

He explains: “The sound goes straight into my ears and I have a little pendant that I wear round my neck that acts like a microphone so I can chat without using my phone.

“This allows me to talk to people on the phone hands-free whilst on the move, which is really useful for when I’m out and about with my job.

“Anytime I need them altering I can just nip into the Amplifon store and they will sort it out for me.

“Nothing’s ever too much trouble – they are very nice people who will always go the extra mile to help. “

Since having his Amplifon hearing aids John’s been able to take part in the challenge of a lifetime – cycling 1,200 miles from Thailand to Burma for charity.

He enthuses: “The hearing aids were just brilliant while I was taking part in the challenge.

“Although I don’t answer the phone while I’m cycling, I could hear the ring tone in my ears which meant I could pull over and never miss a call.”

The technology in his hearing aids have also allowed John to enjoy his beloved music again.

He says: “They allow me to stream music directly into my ears, rather than having to use headphones, which lets me hear music with much more clarity.”

John wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Amplifon to others.

He adds: “Going to Amplifon has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

“The hearing aids are just so fantastic and the quality of service and care is unparalleled.

“Before I had them I didn’t realise just what I was missing out on.”
