Yet more bullying tactics from the Brussels thugs
IT should be no surprise that David Davis has now been forced to consult Government lawyers over threats from Brussels over Brexit but the sheer gall of EU commissioners never fails to shock. In yet another clear attempt to punish Britain for our decision to regain our independence, there are signs that we are being treated differently from other countries in the bloc and that is despite the fact that we are still a member. It is obvious they want us to push us into “third country status”. They can try all they like but it is not going to work.
But this is what the EU does to anyone who dares to stand up to the bully boys of Brussels: tries to sideline them while inflicting punishment. Just ask the eastern European members who are resisting the Brussels line on immigration.
At least it should reassure us that we are doing the right thing. In their attempt to create a European superstate the unelected bureaucrats are becoming ever more antidemocratic, ever more threatening, ever more determined to pull the hugely differing countries and cultures in Europe into one amorphous mass.
They won’t succeed of course and in doing so will destroy the project they are attempting to press on the continent as individual countries fight back. As for Britain, the sooner we set out on our own again the better. And thank our lucky stars we are getting out.
