Bye bye to my big Bridget pants! Mum crowned Miss Slinky after shedding four stone
SOPHIE Jude, 23, poses with the Bridget Jones pants she used to wear... which embarrassed her into some serious dieting.
Sophie had opted for the outsized underwear on her second date with Carl, 33, who is now her partner.
After a wine spill, she was forced to dry her clothes, including her “big control knickers”, on a radiator, thus revealing her secret.
Embarrassed by her resemblance to Renee Zellweger in the Bridget Jones movies, she has since lost four stone and dropped from a size 16 to a size eight in just under a year.
Yesterday she was crowned Slimming World’s Miss Slinky 2018.

BEFORE
BREAKFAST: Cup of sugary tea, big bowl of cereal and two chocolate biscuits MID-MORNING: Chocolate or biscuits LUNCH: Shopbought baguette and a cake or ready-meal SNACK: Crisps DINNER: Takeaway or a ready-meal; pudding with custard every night
AFTER
BREAKFAST: Fruit and yoghurt or porridge MID-MORNING: Fruit LUNCH: Jacket potato with salad or pasta with meat and plenty of vegetables SNACK: Seafood sticks or a Slimming World hi-fi bar DINNER: Home-made spaghetti Bolognese, home-made burger and chips or pizza wraps. An unflattering holiday snap added to her misery.
She added: “I knew I’d had enough – I didn’t ever want to feel that way again.”
Sophie started attending weekly Slimming World meetings in nearby Beeston just six weeks after the birth of her now one-year-old daughter, Vogue.
She swapped big bowls of cereal and chocolate biscuits for porridge and fruit, and now eats jacket potatoes instead of huge baguettes for lunch.
Sophie, who is 5ft 2in, now weighs 8st 11½Ib, and said her life is “completely different now”.
Previously, her weight had seen her give up a performing arts scholarship at a school in London, where she said there was “a lot of pressure to look a certain way”.
But now her confidence is “sky high” and she has joined a new dance class.
