Prefab homes could be the answer to housing crisis
THERESA May has named the housing shortage as one of her priorities (“It is policies that matter, not the trivial reshuffle”, January 10).
If she is in need of a solution she should perhaps consider investing in prefabricated houses.
The prefabs erected in the immediate post-war years proved to be long-lasting and, if cared for, could be cosy, comfortable homes.
With modern materials and manufacturing methods, the prefabricated buildings of today will be far superior.
Investment in these houses, which are quickly and easily erected, could readily yield many thousands of truly affordable homes. Jack Regan, Whaley Bridge, Derbys
