GOODNESS knows why it has taken so long but finally technology is catching up with the need to get the right decisions in football (“Arsene’s men making a stand”, January 11).

Goal-line technology has been great for the game and now allowing the referee access to what all of us watching on TV can see can only be a good thing.

There is too much riding on the result of each game, especially in the cash-rich Premier League.

Cricket has had it for years and it actually adds to the excitement of the match for spectators. John Philipson,
