When the motion ceases, Rupert finds two pairs of doors and flinging them open he runs straight into his pal, Pong-Ping. “Why, it’s Rupert!” cries the little peke. “I never expected to see you!” Rupert tells him how the fairy cycle has made all his wishes come true. They walk across the common, where they meet Podgy. “Hello,” cries Rupert. “Did Santa Claus bring you a sledge after all?” “No,” replies Podgy glumly. “My daddy put it together for me and now as soon as I bring it out the thaw sets in and there’s nothing to slide on!”
