EWAN’S ONE-WOMAN TRIBUTE

-

HE WAS criticised for thanking both his estranged wife and girlfriend in his Golden Globes acceptance speech on Sunday so when it came to this week’s Critics’ Choice Awards Ewan McGregor played it safe and focused on just one woman.

The actor, 46, kissed lover Mary Elizabeth Winstead, 33, as he went to collect his Critics’ Choice Award for best actor in a movie made for TV.

On stage he thanked the cast and crew of the FX channel drama Fargo but gave a special mention to co-star Mary.

“Thank you to FX for putting together this amazing team to make this, for giving us these great scripts and amazing storylines and great characters. And for the great directors that you gave us to work with. Thank you to all of our actors… and Mary.”

The Trainspotting star has been married to 51-year-old production designer Eve Mavrakis for 22 years and went public with his new romance with Mary last October.

Meanwhile Nicole Kidman made sure to include her estranged children in her Critics’ Choice acceptance speech after failing to mention them at the Golden Globes.

When collecting the best actress gong for her role in Big Little Lies on Thursday the 50-year-old, pictured with co-star Reese Witherspoon, below, emphasised: “I want to thank all of my children who show me so much love.”

The mother-of-four was slammed for dedicating her Globes win to her two biological daughters Sunny, nine, and Faith, seven, whom she has with husband Keith Urban, 50, and snubbing adopted children Isabella, 25, and Connor, 22, from her relationship with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

These actors always need a script!
