Still close...Ukip chief and race storm model after they had split up
EMBATTLED Ukip leader Henry Bolton yesterday denied continuing his relationship with a glamour model – despite the pair being photographed out together.
The 54-year-old married politician claimed this week he had split from 25-year-old Jo Marney after she was revealed to have sent racist texts, including an attack on Prince Harry’s fiancee Meghan Markle.
She called Meghan a “dumb little commoner” who would “taint” the royal family.
But despite announcing they had parted, Mr Bolton has since been snapped dining with Miss Marney at a private London club, embracing her at a wine bar and travelling with her on the London Tube and by train.
Mr Bolton left his wife Tatiana, 42, with whom he has two children, over Christmas.
He announced on Monday that the “romantic element” of his relationship with Miss Marney was over.
But on Wednesday, the former Liberal Democrat was pictured dining and apparently holding hands with her at the National Liberal Club in Whitehall. More photos showed them in a wine bar and on the Tube before they were seen together at the railway station in Folkestone, Kent, where Mr Bolton has a flat.
Mr Bolton claimed through an aide that Miss Marney only went there with him to pick up some bags before returning to her home in Maidstone.
Asked about Mr Bolton getting back with her, he said, “I don’t rule it out, not at all”, insisting that the affair was “not a flash in the pan”.
Vowing not to resign, former Army officer Mr Bolton said: “I have seen people die, I have seen people blown up, I have seen people shot.
“Even the Taliban doesn’t quite prepare you for Ukip, though.”
He is facing a vote of confidence at an emergency meeting of Ukip’s National Executive Committee this weekend over his relationship with Miss Marney. He has claimed there was “an organised coup and insurgency” against his leadership.
