BEST HOLIDAY READ?

I like to binge read. I love a real mix, whether it’s a crime thriller, a spot of romance, some chick-lit or something more traditional.

My favourites are probably thrillers. My husband and I tend to bulk-buy books at the airport and then share them when we’re away.

In the summer I read The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena and Miss You by Kate Eberlen.

HOW DO YOU SPEND TIME ON HOLIDAY?

With the family and catching up on sleep. I get up every day for work at 2.30am so a lie-in is a must. I also try to explore the area by going for an early morning run.

This summer we were in Marbella and there is a fantastic path along the coast to Puerto Banus called Paseo Maritimo. It’s a 10-mile run there and back and the perfect start to the day.

WHERE WOULD YOU REVISIT?

I’d love to go back to Australia and visit Sydney and Melbourne, as I’ve never made it to either.

Likewise, returning to Thailand is on my hit list. I went there years ago and travelled to Phang Nga Bay. It was simply stunning.

WHERE NEXT?

Cape Town. My brother lives there so we try to visit as often as we can. The climate is fantastic and even though the flight is 12 hours, there’s no jet lag. We spend time by the beach, hiking in the mountains, having lunch in the wine lands and a barbecue for dinner.
