Sarah’s instinct is for Sharon

THE beleaguered third Sex And The City film could be back on track with main star Sarah Jessica Parker now calling for Sharon Stone to replace Kim Cattrall.

Sarah has also revealed she was sad at Kim’s recent suggestion that they were never friends. The former co-stars have been engaged in a feud after the woman who played journalist Carrie Bradshaw blamed Kim, 61, for derailing production on the latest instalment.

However Liverpool-born Kim rejected the accusation, saying she never had any intention of reprising her role of sex-driven PR boss Samantha Jones. And Sarah now seems keen on the possibility of replacing her with 59-year-old Basic Instinct star Sharon.

“I think it’s a really interesting idea,” says the 52-year-old.

“Once everybody has thoroughly experienced the grieving process then Michael Patrick, the producer, can go back and sort of ponder what he might want to do and how he might want to proceed.

“That’s the most clear answer I have given yet.”

She was then asked her opinion on the comments Kim made last October on ITV’s Life Stories with Piers Morgan when she said: “We’ve never been friends. We’ve been colleagues.”

Sarah, above, said: “I found it very upsetting. That’s not the way I recall our experience. So it’s sad.

“But I always think that what ties us together is this singular experience. It was a professional experience but it became personal.”
