- By Gillian Crawley

A FORMER paratrooper who served with Prince Harry and helped to train Prince William is on the run after being convicted of child rape.

Police are searching for Wayne Domeney, 51, who is believed to be in County Durham and hiding out with contacts in the Consett area or using his Army survival skills to live rough.

He was found guilty, in his absence, of 13 offences at Birmingham Crown Court on February 2.

Domeney, who was previously known as Wayne Rackham, was convicted of four counts of raping a young girl and three counts of assaulting a girl by penetration.

He was also found guilty of three counts of sexual activity with a child, two counts of inciting a child to Domeney... thought to be hiding in County Durham engage in sexual activity and one of intimidating a witness. The assaults happened over a four-year period. Inspector Keith Wardle, of Consett Police, said: “If anyone thinks they have seen this man, they should contact police immediately. I would advise people not to approach him.” Domeney joined the Army in 1985 and toured Iraq and Afghanistan as well as serving in Northern Ireland. He left in 2009 and last year gave an interview in which he boasted that he had met Prince Charles, who is Colonel-in-Chief of the Parachute Regiment. Domeney also boasted about training Prince William, describing him as “down-toearth”, and said Prince Harry was “sound, one of the lads” during their time serving together in Afghanistan.
