Spa report
SOUTHAMPTON HARBOUR HOTEL & SPA, OCEAN VILLAGE, SOUTHAMPTON
FACILITIES
This stylish yacht-inspired hotel is designed with luxury in mind. The bar on the sixth floor has a stunning view of the marina and a delicious cocktail list.
Many of the rooms have private balconies, complimentary gin and sherry, and White Company bathroom products.
You can enjoy an evening meal in the Jetty restaurant, which has seafood so fresh the chef can tell you the name of the fisherman who caught it. And do not miss the spa, which has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and fully equipped gym.
TREATMENTS AVAILABLE
Using Espa products, the spa has seven treatment rooms and offers an extensive menu from personalised facials and aromatherapy massages to body scrubs, plus a range of treatments for men and pregnant women. Reflexology is on offer plus manicures, pedicures and waxing.
TREATMENTS TESTED Espa Holistic Back, Face and Scalp Massage, £85, 85 minutes
As I breathed in balancing rose and geranium oil, I began to relax. Then the treatment started with a back scrub, using an aloe-infused exfoliator to buff and hydrate. Next an oil was massaged into my skin in smooth, circular motions.
My face was cleansed using a product packed with pumpkin enzymes to exfoliate. A balancing toner was applied, followed by a hydrating mask.
My therapist gently massaged my face and scalp before removing the mask and applying a hydrating moisturiser to finish. As I left my skin felt plump and hydrated.
Harbour Reviver Massage, £87.50, 70 minutes
This head-to-toe massage is tailored to areas that need most attention. The therapist varied the pressure throughout the treatment, soothing my husband’s sore legs and easing the tension out of his knotted shoulders.
He was so relaxed that he nodded off during the massage.
GOOD POINTS
The friendly staff made our stay feel very personal. The Jetty restaurant was incredible and the fish tasted as fresh as we were told it would.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
A Weekend Vibes spa day, £80pp, includes prosecco on arrival, a 45-minute treatment and full use of the facilities. Rooms in the hotel cost from £175 per person per night.
