Fabianski: Owls loss is our gain
LUKASZ FABIANSKI says Sheffield Wednesday’s loss is Swansea’s gain.
The Owls sacked Carlos Carvalhal on Christmas Eve with the side 15th in the Championship and he was appointed Swansea manager three days later.
He has lifted his new team off the bottom of the table and clear of the relegation zone with 14 points from seven matches and returns to Hillsborough in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
“We feel different right now,” said Swansea keeper Fabianski. “The results are there and we are moving up in the table. We have been playing better for some time now – we have improved dramatically. Our confidence is very high.
“When he talks he is very confident, whether it’s about tactics or the mental approach to the game. “What I like about him is that he is very positive. He spreads a good energy. He has also had some funny moments which we enjoy as players.” THE Manchester United Supporters’ Trust has met with the club to discuss improving Old Trafford’s atmosphere. Manager Jose Mourinho, left, has regularly aired his frustration at the lack of atmosphere during home games, most recently after the recent win over Huddersfield. The supporters’ group has outlined several solutions but sees stadium expansion as essential.
WYCOMBE have rejected an approach from Barnsley to hold talks with Gareth Ainsworth about replacing Paul Heckingbottom as manager at Oakwell.
