DOM PARSONS powered to Winter Olympic bronze on a sled specially built for the PyeongChang track in a garage workshop.
Parsons has been working with former world champion Kristan Bromley, husband of Olympic silver medallist Shelley Rudman. Nicknamed ‘Dr Ice’, Bromley has planned for this moment as much as Parsons. “Kristan was my team-mate in Sochi and he’s a good friend too,” said Parsons, an engineering student.
“After he retired, this became our aim. We’ve developed this equipment together and it’s made a huge difference.”
His rivals may have been sniping about hi-tech race suits developed by the team who work with British Cycling, but in skeleton the sled is king.
Bromley said: “It was designed especially for the track – the runners were designed to suit the ice conditions.
“Like a Formula One car, you have a sled that JOSE MOURINHO has branded former Manchester United star Paul Ince “a liar” and insists there is no rift between him and record signing Paul Pogba.
