Cheryl and Liam ‘to split’ a year after son’s birth
SINGER Cheryl’s relationship with Liam Payne is “on the rocks” with fears they could split up within weeks, it emerged yesterday.
The couple, who got together in 2016, have a baby son Bear who turns one next month.
But less than a year after his arrival, their relationship is said to be strained due to the pressures of managing their busy work schedules.
One sticking point is thought to be former One Direction star Liam’s solo career which demands he travels the world.
Cheryl, 34, has effectively been left alone in their Surrey mansion to raise their son single-handedly. A source said the pair “tried very hard to make it work” and were Jean-Bernard FernandezVersini in 2016.
The source claimed that the couple’s main concern is Bear’s welfare and making sure he remains “the happy little boy” he is now.
It added that the heart of the problem was that Liam was “away a lot” leaving the relationship “hanging by a thread”.
Meanwhile, Cheryl is set to make her prime-time TV comeback on new BBC show The Greatest Dancer later this year.
The singer-turned-TV judge was seen earlier this month taking part in a run through in her role as a “dance captain”.
A spokesman for Cheryl refused to comment on the claims of a split last night. JAMES Middleton, the brother of the Duchess of Cambridge, has split with TV presenter Donna Air.
James, 30, the younger brother of Kate and Pippa Middleton, is understood to have parted from Donna before Christmas.
Dancing On Ice star Donna, 38, insisted the former couple remain “the very best of friends”.
She said: “James and I are no longer an item.
“We parted ways in December but remain the very best of friends and always will be.”
The couple began dating in 2013, attending a string of high-society events together.
Donna attended the wedding of Pippa and James Matthews last May.
She is currently competing in ITV’s Dancing On Ice where James was recently seen cheering her on.
A friend said: “Donna’s down-to-earth nature helped to ease any concerns that James’s mother Carole might have had about them being together. But now she is ready to move on.”
