HE WAS previously thought to have only got engaged to girlfriend

Cherry Seaborn but judging by the ring on Ed Sheeran’s finger it would appear he may have already tied the knot.

Taking to the stage for a one-off gig as part of War Child Brits Week at the O2 Indigo in London, the just turned 27-year-old showed off what seemed to be more of a band than a sparkler as he played his two-hour set to the 2,700 strong crowd. The official line is that the pair had got engaged at the back end of last year with the Halifax-born singer sharing the news with his followers on Instagram in January.

If he has indeed already got married he has certainly succeeded in keeping it quiet, with even friends being kept in the dark, unless they’re in on it too! It was only on Saturday that pal Ellen DeGeneres wished him a happy birthday on Twitter, even joking that she’d be happy to provide the musical entertainment for the big day. The US chatshow host said: “Happy birthday@EdSheeran! I’m so excited for your wedding. No need to ask... yes! I’ll sing.”

Meanwhile, ahead of tonight’s appearance at the Brit Awards, the recently MBE-anointed star is under strict instructions to keep it clean – by his dad John. “It’s such a nice event but you are not to swear. My dad tells me not to swear,” says Ed, who is nominated in four categories.
