Boy, 7, ‘lonely and lost’ after twin sister is killed in crash

-

“He misses his sister a lot, so anyone who wants to come play with Charlie let me know.”

Thanking residents of Looe and neighbouring Polperro, she said: “The wonderful messages and shared memories have brought so much comfort in the darkest time of mine and Joe’s lives.

“The thought that my amazing Maisie will forever be remembered in all your hearts brings some kind of joy to all this sorrow.

“Joe and I haven’t had a chance to open all the messages because there have just been so many but we want everyone to know not one message has gone unnoticed.

“You have been a comfort blanket to us and we just can’t show enough appreciation.”

In a heartbreaking message to her daughter, she added: “I love you Maisie, sleep tight, mummy Maisie was killed by a car that skidded on ice and hit a house, above. Right, Maisie’s parents Abbi and Joe and daddy love you forever and always. Forever going on a bear hunt.”

Local councillor Edwina Hannaford, the youngster’s greataunt, said: “We are heartbroken.

“Our Maisie was a ray of sunshine in our lives, a beautiful princess who was loved by all who met her. We have however found comfort in the many messages of support we have received and small but very welcome acts of kindness.

“The outpouring of love and support from our wonderful friends, family and the communities of Looe and Polperro has made us feel like a warm blanket of love being wrapped around us.

“We are blessed to live in such a close-knit community with so many caring and loving people.”

Maisie was among more than 10 people killed in the ice and snow blown in by the Beast from the East and Storm Emma.
