Inch-long pendant was ‘too dangerous’
THE latest piece of idiocy from the people who want to make travel even more of a misery than it already is: a necklace in the shape of a tiny gun has been banned. Claire Sharpe, a former policewoman, has worn that necklace at Westminster Abbey and alongside high-ranking police officers and the Home Secretary with no problem but Stansted airport deemed it “too dangerous” to wear on a flight. That pendant is one inch long.
They really are trying their darnedest to keep us off planes. They practically strip us going through security, charge us through the nose for refreshments both on and off the plane, cram us into seats that would make a hamster claustrophobic and in this case take away a cherished present from Claire's late husband. The only way to fly. What a joke. EMMA WATSON has had an illiterate temporary tattoo to show solidarity with the #metoo movement, a slogan saying “Times Up”, with no apostrophe. Tells you everything you need to know, does it not?
THE COLD WAR IS BACK
SOME people I know of a certain vintage quite clearly miss the Cold War. Yes, it was dangerous but exciting. Unlike the fight against terrorism you knew where you stood. Some people I know actively wish to have it back again – now Putin has said that he would annihilate the world with Russian nukes if nukes were fired at Russia because “Why do we need a world if Russians cease to exist?” Looks like the Cold War buffs are about to get their wish.
